Terms of Service
Selat Sails (balisailingtrip.com) is a booking and concierge channel, not the boat operator. When you request a Bali sailing trip through this site, your booking is arranged with and delivered by Bali Premium Trip, the operator that runs the vessels and crew. These terms explain how bookings, deposits, cancellations, weather calls, liability and your personal data are handled. Last updated 2026, subject to change.
This page is a plain-language summary of our operating terms. It is not legal advice. Where a term below conflicts with the written confirmation you receive from Bali Premium Trip for a specific departure, that written confirmation governs your trip.
Who are you actually booking with?
Selat Sails is the online storefront for modern under-sail day trips and sunset sails from Benoa and Serangan toward Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. The site is published by Juara Holding Group. The sailing experiences themselves, the catamaran or sailboat, the crew, safety equipment and on-water decisions, are operated by Bali Premium Trip.
That split matters for two reasons:
- Selat Sails presents itineraries, per-person pricing and availability, then passes your confirmed request to the operator.
- Bali Premium Trip carries the vessel, crew and insurance, and holds final authority over whether, when and how any trip sails.
We do not own the boats. We arrange your seat and act as your point of contact before and after the trip.
How is a booking made and confirmed?
A booking is a two-step exchange. You send a request; we return a written confirmation.
| Stage | What happens | Your status |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry | You message us via WhatsApp or email with date, trip type and passenger count | No seat held |
| Hold | We check operator availability and quote a per-person price in IDR or USD | Provisional, unpaid |
| Confirmed | You pay the deposit and receive written confirmation with departure time and meeting point | Seat secured |
A booking is only confirmed once you have received our written confirmation containing the departure date, reporting time and harbour (Benoa or Serangan). A verbal or chat-only “yes” without that confirmation, or a payment we have not acknowledged in writing, does not guarantee a seat. Prices quoted before confirmation are indicative and can move with season, fuel and operator availability.
What deposit is required?
Most scheduled per-person day sails and sunset sails require a deposit to hold your seats, with the balance due before boarding. Private charters and 2 to 3 day mini itineraries usually carry a higher deposit because the operator reserves the whole vessel and crew for you.
The exact deposit percentage, balance-due date and accepted payment methods are stated in your written confirmation for that specific trip. Do not treat any figure on marketing pages as your final contract; the confirmation is the figure that binds.
What is the cancellation and reschedule policy?
Cancellation terms depend on how far ahead you cancel and whether the trip is a shared-seat departure or a private booking. The tiers below are the standard framework; your written confirmation states the precise dates and amounts that apply to you.
| When you cancel | Typical outcome (shared per-person seats) |
|---|---|
| Well ahead of departure | Deposit refundable or fully transferable to a new date |
| Within the near-term window | Partial charge; balance may be held as credit |
| Close to departure or no-show | Deposit generally non-refundable |
Rescheduling is usually the friendlier path. Where the operator has open availability, we will move a confirmed booking to another date rather than cancel it, subject to any price difference for the new date or season. Ask us early; a reschedule requested days ahead is far easier to honour than one requested the night before.
What happens if weather cancels my sailing?
Sailing under sail depends on wind, sea state and tides, so weather calls are part of the experience, not an exception to it. Widely reported guidance for the Benoa and Serangan crossings to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida is that operators cancel or reschedule when conditions are unsafe, and that dry-season windows generally give the calmest, most comfortable wind for sailing.
If Bali Premium Trip cancels a departure for weather or safety:
- You will be offered a reschedule to the next workable date, or
- A refund or open credit for the affected portion, per your confirmation.
A weather cancellation is an operator safety decision. Because timings under sail are wind-dependent and slower than the motorised fast-boat benchmarks (Serangan to Nusa Lembongan runs roughly 30 minutes by fast boat, per Giliferries and Rocky Fast Cruise; a genuine sail is longer and variable), we cannot guarantee an exact return time. Build slack into any onward travel or flights. Selat Sails and Bali Premium Trip are not liable for missed connections caused by weather delays, tide windows or safety holds.
What are the liability limits and the waiver?
Sailing, swimming, snorkelling and boarding at sea carry inherent risks. Before boarding, passengers are typically asked to acknowledge a liability waiver and safety briefing provided by the operator. That waiver, together with the operator’s own insurance and terms, governs on-water liability.
Within the limits allowed by Indonesian law:
- Selat Sails’ responsibility is limited to arranging your booking accurately and passing correct trip details between you and the operator.
- Liability for the conduct of the trip, the vessel, crew and equipment rests with Bali Premium Trip as operator.
- Neither party is liable for losses outside reasonable control, including weather, sea conditions, harbour or e-ticketing delays, marine-park access rules or acts of third parties.
You are responsible for declaring medical conditions, non-swimmer status, pregnancy or mobility needs before booking, and for following crew safety instructions on the day. Travel insurance that covers water activities is strongly recommended and is your responsibility to arrange.
How is my personal data handled?
We collect only what a booking needs: name, contact number, email, passenger count and any safety-relevant details you share. We use it to arrange your trip with the operator and to reach you about your booking.
- Indonesia (UU PDP, Law 27 of 2022): As a business handling personal data connected to services in Indonesia, we process your data lawfully, keep it only as long as needed for your booking and our records, and share it with Bali Premium Trip solely to deliver your trip.
- International visitors (GDPR-aware): If you contact us from the EU or UK, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold, subject to records we must retain for legal and accounting reasons.
We do not sell your data. To make a data request, use the contact routes below.

Which terms govern, and can they change?
These terms are governed by Indonesian law. Where your specific written confirmation from Bali Premium Trip differs from this page, the confirmation prevails for that trip. We may update these terms as harbour logistics evolve, including anticipated 2027 Benoa marina upgrades and Nusa Penida e-ticketing changes affecting day-sail scheduling. The version in force is the one dated at the top of this page. All figures and policies are stated as of 2026 and are subject to change.
